Joost Geevers is a remarkably versatile musician. As a conductor, trombonist, actor in musical theatre, teacher, and philosopher, his mission is to share the richness and depth that music has to offer with a wide and diverse audience.

As a guest conductor, Joost has worked with leading ensembles such as the Residentie Orkest The Hague, the National Ballet Orchestra, the South Netherlands Philharmonic, the North Netherlands Orchestra, the Phion Symphony Orchestra, and the Metropole Orchestra, among others.

In 2008–2009 he served as conductor of the Ligeti Academy of the Asko|Schönberg Ensemble, and ever since he has been an active advocate for new music both in the Netherlands and abroad. He led the Dutch premieres of Charles Ives’ Universe Symphony with the North Netherlands Orchestra and Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Hochzeiten from Sonntag aus Licht with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. Joost has also collaborated with the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, Ensemble Klang, Orkest de Ereprijs, HIIIT, the Ives Ensemble, and the Aarhus Sinfonietta.
